Property fee has come into force in the city from Saturday. It will be recovered after one and a half to two months. There will be no recovery until the digital house number is found outside the houses in the city and the QR code is not established. This information has been given by Municipal Corporation Mayor Rajinder Sharma.
He said that we have not registered all houses yet. Digital numbers are to be given to all the houses in the city by the corporation. This process is going on. The fee cannot be charged until its completion. He also said that people have not opposed it.
People have to pay a minor fee. He told that we had also sought their opinion from people regarding this fee. People are giving their suggestions. These suggestions will be compiled and sent to the government. Jammu Mayor Said that the city has 5.20 lakh houses.
Out of these, there are around 2 lakh such houses, which will have to pay a fee of only one thousand rupees in a year. Explain that the government had announced to impose property fees in the municipal bodies. Earlier, the Lieutenant Governor had said that property fee is applicable in the whole country, not only in Jammu and Kashmir. 40 percent of the people of the city will not come under fee.
