AWARENESS VITAL

It is really praiseworthy that the people of village Jaglanoo in Rajouri District’s Kandi area informed police about a suspicious object found lying in the area though after investigation it came to fore that the recovered item was an electronic device and there was no need to panic. The swift response of the people in informing the concerned security forces about the unclaimed object with blinking lights is the need of the time as threats by the terror mongers are looming large especially in account of forthcoming Republic Day on January 26th, 2023. It is pertinent to mention that an electronic device with blinking lights was found lying in a village in Rajouri district causing panic among people who mistook it for an IED. The security agencies which are already on tenterhooks didn’t waste even a jiffy and rushed to the spot to defuse the explosive but on reaching the spot it was found that there was no need to panic because the object was an ordinary electronic device. It is advisable that people should remain in contact with the closest security picket or the nearby police post or police station in such cases and must wait before spreading rumours or getting panicked as in the aforesaid case. It is advisable that the people should wait for official statements in such cases before spreading the wrong information in all directions like wildfire because at times such behaviour can cause more harm than what has been designed by the anti-nationals or violence mongers. It is always advisable that the people should act as ears and eyes of the government and inform any such suspicious incident, object or movement to the security forces but under no circumstances spreading rumours is justified because to inform the public, the government has its own reliable sources and mechanism because in such cases what is important is to ensure that chaos and confusion do not mar the situation as the atmosphere becomes crucial with such incidents. In the aforesaid case, the security forces have particularly sanitised the entire village before giving a green signal to people to resume the normal activity, which is always advisable. The need of the time is to remain cautious and report about any suspicious or unattended object immediately but without creating any mayhem or spreading fear psychosis among the people as this could lead to more trouble and confusion.
