J&K Police has recovered an IED- Improvised Explosive Device in Basantgarh area of Udhampur district. The police have also detained an accused in the case. Further investigation is underway. Along with this, the police have also recovered 300-400 grams of RDX.
Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday seized material like improvised explosive device and a huge cache of arms and ammunition in Udhampur, believed to belong to banned Pakistan-based outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba, and a suspect. has been taken into custody.
The IED-like material, weighing about 15 kg, 300-400 grams of RDX, seven cartridges of 7.6 mm, five detonators, a coded sheet, a letter pad page of banned terrorist organization LET, were seized, police said in a statement. A suspect has also been detained in Basantgarh area of district Udhampur.
A case has also been registered at Basantgarh police station under sections of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (Act) and the Explosives Act. The matter is under investigation. Further details are awaited.
