TREADING TOWARDS NORMALCY

TREADING TOWARDS NORMALCY

The question that when there will be complete peace and normalcy in J&K is difficult to answer but one thing is for sure that the UT is fast treading towards the stage when there would be lasting peace and normalcy as the Union Home Minister Amit Shah has claimed that the terrorism is down by 80 percent after the scrapping of Article 370. No one in the country can deny this fact that the centre has taken revolutionary steps to end the vicious cycle of violence and destruction, and in this context much has been achieved as the terrorist activities are down considerably. Except the targeted killings of outsiders, Kashmiri Pandits, and some other segments of society, the situation is well under control as security forces have eliminated hundreds of ultras in the recent time with encounters continuing on almost daily basis. This is an achievement because the intelligence has been beefed up to the level next and inputs with great precision are pouring in day in day out leading to successful encounters eliminating terrorists hiding in urban and rural pockets of Kashmir. The new problem which is seen in Kashmir these days is of hybrid terrorists and in most if the cases the targeted killings were carried out by these Hybrid ultras who otherwise lead a normal life with city dwellers but are radicalized in such a manner that they go out and execute terror acts before again joining the people’s stream and living a life of common man. It is however praiseworthy that the security forces have eliminated every single terrorist involved in targeted killing and is hunting for more hybrid ultras to stop this menace once and for all. As the home minister has assured that despite terror incidents are still happening in the Valley sooner than later this scourge will be ended, it is the responsibility of the security forces to make this thing happen as soon as possible because any delay in the matter can further provide time to terrorists to once again rejuvenate and strike with more power. The government should further bolster the edifice and strategy to ensure that the job which it wanted to execute in months or years should be accomplished in days and once again Kashmir becomes terror-free and the paradise on earth with heterogeneous society welcoming the tourists round the year with traditional warmth and hospitality.
