Mehbooba Mufti, President of the People’s Democratic Party and former Chief Minister of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir, has demanded an inquiry into the death of terrorist Imran Bashir Ganai, who was involved in the killing of two workers of Uttar Pradesh in South Kashmir’s Shopian. According to the police, a terrorist hideout was raided in the early hours of today on the behest of Imran. The terrorists hiding there opened fire on seeing the soldiers. Imran got shot in this and he was killed. The terrorists also managed to escape during this period.
Mehbooba Mufti said that Imran’s death raises many questions. If a terrorist can kill someone in the presence of security forces, then the condition of the common man can be estimated. He said that Imran’s death is also raising the question that whether the government is adopting the policy of catch and kill-catch-and-kill here in Jammu and Kashmir as well. In Punjab, many such innocent people have been caught and killed in fake encounters. Everyone knows how and what happened there. If this method is adopted here then it will be very difficult.
PDP President Mehbooba Mufti said that we are apprehensive that as elections in Gujarat and Himachal approach, the situation in Jammu and Kashmir will be disturbed and such incidents will happen so that the BJP which works on the policy of dividing Hindu-Muslims, To take electoral advantage.
