After the Election Commission of India’s decision to give the right to vote to the people of other states in Jammu and Kashmir, the political excitement has intensified in the state. National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah has invited the opposition to his residence on Monday to discuss the decision. Except BJP, all other parties have been called in this meeting so that the next strategy can be prepared on this decision.

According to Dr Farooq Abdullah, the meeting will be held at his residence in Gupkar at 11 am on Monday. He said that this meeting has been called only to know the opinion of all the parties on the decision of the Election Commission. PDP President Mehbooba Mufti had also said this morning that she had requested Dr Farooq Abdullah to convene a meeting on the matter. A day earlier, the Election Commission had decided to give the right to vote to the people of other states living in Jammu and Kashmir. After this, now the regional parties of Jammu and Kashmir have become active.

Although the Congress has not yet reacted to this decision of the Election Commission, but the PDP and the National Conference have become aggressive on this issue. Both the parties allege that BJP is doing all this for its political gains. At present, a large number of people from Hindi speaking states are living in Jammu and Kashmir. Earlier, due to the right to vote only the local people, regional political parties used to benefit from it, but now they are afraid that after this decision of the Election Commission, the political equations in Jammu and Kashmir may not change.

On the pretext of this decision of the Election Commission, Dr. Farooq Abdullah and PDP President Mehbooba Mufti also want to unite the opposition parties. That is why he has invited members of all political parties except BJP to the meeting on Monday.
