J&K: NIA Raids In Jammu, Samba, Kathua And Doda In Terror Funding Case

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted simultaneous raids at seven to eight places in Jammu, Kathua, Samba, Doda and Srinagar in the early hours of Thursday today. The raids were conducted on the basis of interrogation of terrorist associate Faisal Munir. Faisal Munir is the person who was recently caught by the Jammu Police for smuggling arms from Pakistan through drones. The teams of NIA, who reached these districts along with the police and other security forces, have raided the houses and offices of the people involved in this case.

According to the information received so far, searches are going on at Faisal Munir’s house in Talab Khatinka, Jammu. Faisal Munir was arrested sometime back by the Jammu and Kashmir Police on the basis of his involvement in the incidents of bomb blasts apart from getting arms and other paraphernalia from Pakistan through drones and creating a terrorist network in Jammu and Doda. It is being told that this raid is being done on the basis of interrogation of Munir.

After the arrest of Munir, the police arrested his associate from Hariya Chakk in Hiranagar. Another team of NIA, after raiding the house of his cooperation, also investigated the Gujjar’s tent located there. After this search which lasted for about one to two hours, the NIA team returned from there. No information has been given about whether any material or documents related to terror funding have been found during the investigation.

Similarly, in Samba and Doda also the NIA is conducting searches in the houses and offices of people connected with Munir’s network. At present the investigation is going on. According to the information received so far, information about getting many important documents is coming during the investigation. No arrest has been reported so far during this raid.

The NIA official said that detailed information will be given in this regard after the completion of the investigation.
