A 12-year-old teenager has been seriously injured after being hit by a landmine in the area along the Line of Control in Poonch. He has been immediately admitted to the hospital for treatment.
According to the information, a 12-year-old teenager, a resident of Nakarkot area of Poonch district, had gone out for grazing cattle and during this time he accidentally stepped on the landmine lying near the Line of Control, after which the landmine exploded and in this he has been seriously injured. He has been identified as Rizwan Khan son Yunus Khan resident of Nakarkot. He was immediately admitted to the hospital by the local army unit where his treatment is going on.
It is worth noting that on the night of July 17, an Army Captain and a Naib Subedar were martyred when they were hit by a landmine blast along the Line of Control in Poonch. A few jawans, including an army captain, were injured in a sudden explosion while on duty in Mendhar sector during the night. In view of the critical condition of the injured, they were taken to Udhampur Military Hospital where Naib Subedar including a Captain succumbed to his injuries during treatment while seven other jawans were injured and are undergoing treatment. The martyr Captain Anand KN Jha is a resident of Champa Nagar district Bhagalpur Bihar while the Naib Subedar has been identified as Bhagwan Singh. He was a resident of Ambedkar Nagar, Uttar Pradesh.
