Pakistan has intensified cross-border movement to create unrest in Kashmir, including the Amarnath Yatra. Security forces were alerted after a sudden drone sighting in KG sector of Mendhar in Poonch district. They fired a few rounds to shoot down the drone but it went across the border.
According to sources, the jawans saw the drone spying near Baloni area of KG sector around 2 o’clock last night. After that they fired at him and he went towards Pakistan.
On Saturday morning, the Special Operations Group of the Army and Police launched a massive search in the area. Earlier on July 4, a Pakistani drone had entered the Samba sector. At around 8 pm on Sunday night, a Pakistani drone had entered the Indian border from in front of the Khoda post of the International Border Area.
The drone returned from Chak Dulma area via Bai Nala of Ghagwal via Rajpura, Sanura. The drone was flying at an altitude of five to six hundred meters. This drone remained in Indian territory for about 15 minutes. A massive search operation was launched after the Pakistani drone was spotted by the security forces in the dark of night.
In this, the police SOG, CRPF personnel thoroughly explored the border areas and river drains of Chaleari, Chachwal and Manguchak areas. Weapons were suspected to have been dropped from drones. This is the second drone sighting in a month in Samba district.
