PEOPLE’S DISPENSATION

PEOPLE’S DISPENSATION

The way the BJP Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the centre is focusing on development in Jammu and Kashmir, it could be said with conviction that it is truly the people’s dispensation because every issue, problem or aspiration of the population in the UT has been taken care of without any prejudice or partiality. What is exciting about this government at the centre is that after every few days a new announcement comes telling about new initiatives or sanction of funds to bolster the public infrastructure which under the successive governments remained as a sodden affair because except siphoning of funds the then helmsmen never bothered to emphasize on development or bailing out people from a life full of miseries. The incumbent government continuing with the good work has now sanctioned Rs 1337.51 crore for the Jammu-Akhnoor Highway Project, which will rejuvenate the life of the people of the entire belt as earlier long traffic jams and snarling flow of vehicles used to raise adrenal levels of the commuters using this road stretch under stressful conditions. By speeding up work on this section of highway, the government has provided succor to the commuters as they are now hopeful that sooner than later their problems while travelling on this road will be mitigated and they can have hassle-free journey on this road stretch. It is pertinent to mention that the Union Minister for Road, Transport and National Highways Nitin Gadkari has approved Rs 1337.51 crore for Jammu-Akhnoor section of the National Highway.
This is the third major approval of budgetary outlay for construction works in Jammu and Kashmir by Gadkari’s Ministry. Surely, the Minister deserves kudos for taking out of the box initiatives in J&K to realize the dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make the Union Territory one of the top regions of the country. It is pertinent to mention that the aforesaid stretch starts from 4th Tawi Bridge and ends at Hanuman Chowk with a total distance of 31 kilometers in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Had the earlier dispensations focused on J&K like the present one today the region must be having a world class infrastructure. It could be said that ‘better late than never’, as the people’s government led by PM Modi has been taking extraordinary steps to steer the UT to new heights of progress and development.
