There is still some time left to find out if there was any kind of chicanery in the whole gamut as the LG’s administration has come under withering fire over the issue of large scale corruption in recruitment process of SIs selections carried out by JKSSB. Without any doubt, stringent possible punishment for those involved in corruption is essential to serve as a deterrent for those who might attempt similar misadventure in the coming time. It is pertinent to mention that the government has announced a time-bound probe by a committee headed by Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department, R K Goyal, into the allegations of fraud into the recently announced Sub Inspector or JKSSB SI Result 2022, declared online on June 4.

The issue came to fore after print and electronic media highlighted the same quoting aspirants’s apprehensions and also visible ‘discrepancies’ in the select list issued for the sub inspector recruitment by JKSSB. The government now has taken the right path by deciding that a committee will inquire into it within a time bound manner and if any fraud will be surfaced, the process shall be annulled and recruitment will be made in a transparent manner. Of course, the government is bound to carry out an impartial probe and take necessary action in the matter as nepotism of such a high degree cannot be tolerated in any part of the country which is being led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is against the corruption and has declared from various public platforms–Na Khayunga Na Khane Doonga. This is a significant statement by the Prime Minister and therefore makes it mandatory for J&K administration to look into the allegations in a fair manner and punish the culprits if any in an exemplary manner.
