SERIOUS MATTER

It is intriguing that things concerning the safety and security of the Kashmiri Pandit employees are being handled in a carefree manner in the UT of J&K thus posing a great risk to the lives of aforesaid employees presently working in the Valley, away from their homes and hearths. It is a matter of investigation that the transfer list of aforesaid employees who presently are a vulnerable lot due to surge in targeted killings in Valley has gone public posing a great risk to their life and property. There are two possibilities behind this ‘iconic’ blunder. First is the circulation of the aforesaid list by an overenthusiastic employee, who wanted to share the information as soon as he or she got the chance, like many social media users who couldn’t resist themselves from sharing the content which somehow enters into their silicon devices including cell phones, tabs, PC or laptops. The second and the most dangerous possibility is that the vital information loaded with details of the employees has been shared deliberately on social media to help terrorists plan their future moves to continue with the ghastly acts of killing innocent and unarmed civilians. No doubt whosoever has done this should be dealt strictly under the law of the land and the government should also ensure that the risk emerging out of the leaked list should be taken care of by either changing the posting sites or going for a complete change as the lacuna is a big one and helmsmen can’t take chances in this grave matter. This actually is a serious breach of security and cannot be taken as lightly. As per the leaked list, 177 Kashmiri Pandit teachers employed under the Prime Minister’s Rehabilitation Package have been transferred. Those officials involved in the act should be reprimanded and stern action be taken against them because this has jeopardized the security of hundreds of KP employees who are already confronting terrorism head on. This uncalled for behaviour of the culprit officials has put the lives of the aforesaid 177 employees in danger. The government which is taking serious initiatives in providing a failsafe security grid to the aforesaid employees and other people in the Valley is in a fix as all its efforts have been nullified by this breach in security.
