Kashmiri Pandits pay obeisance at Zaethyar

A number of Kashmiri Pandits and tourists visited Zeashta Devi shrine at Zaethyar at high security Gupkar road in Srinagar to pay obeisance on Friday.
Kashmiri Pandits and tourists participated in the annual Hawan after two years in view of the Covid-19 Pandemic, to celebrate the birth anniversary of the Zeashta Devi. Puran Ahuti or Complete Sacrifice was also held.
Zeashta devi shrine or zeathyar is a hindu shrine located in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir at Zaethyar on the Gupkar Road in Srinagar. It is situated at the zabarwan hills, surrounded with beautiful and eye-catching serene place.
Pilgrims all over the world visit and pay obeisance at the pious feet of Zeashta mata, every year. However, during the past two years there were no celebrations held at the temple due to the coronavirus pandemic.
A Kashmiri Pandit devotee who identified himself as Roshan Lal Bhat said thousands of Pandits and tourists from all over the world use to visit here on the occasion to pay obeisance every year.
He said the Hawan was conducted after two years during which less Kashmiri Pandits and a good number of tourists participated.
He said special prayers were held for the peace and tranquility of the Kashmir valley.
“We pray that all the people including pandits live peacefully and without any fear in Kashmir”, Bhat said.
