WHO CARES?

It is ludicrous that Pakistan has rejected the Delimitation Commission report because the rogue nation has no locus standi over the issue as the same is internal matter of India and whatever Pakistan has to say or do is its own prerogative but India in no way going to listen to this meaningless harangue. It is pertinent to mention that Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry has summoned India’s Charge d’Affaires and handed a demarche conveying Islamabad’s categorical rejection of the Delimitation Commission report. The Delimitation Commission was tasked by the Indian government to redraw the boundaries of assembly and parliamentary constituencies in Jammu and Kashmir. The three-member panel headed by Justice (Retd) Ranjana Desai has signed the final order on redrawing the assembly constituencies of the Union Territory. The Delimitation Commission on Jammu and Kashmir was formed in March 2020. In its final report, the Commission has given six additional assembly seats to Jammu region and one to Kashmir Valley. Jammu division will now have 43 assembly seats and Kashmir 47 in the 90-member House. It is expected that Pakistan is making hue and cry despite having no claim over the issue because J&K was , is and will remain integral part of the country with Pakistan having no right or say in the matter. Whatever Pakistan has to say over the Delimitation Commission report or for that matter any other issue makes no difference for India because the country doesn’t gives two hoots to its rants over the issue. Pakistan is claiming that the Delimitation Commission was aimed at disenfranchising and disempowering the Muslim majority population of Jammu and Kashmir, which is false and fully concocted stand because there is nothing of this sort in the report as the changes proposed were just to rationalize things which were apparently looking disproportionate. It is choice of Pakistan to either welcome or reject the aforesaid report but as far as India is concerned the move is unswerving and no power on earth can mount pressure to change the same. Surprisingly Pakistan wants to paint this move as an attempt to give legitimacy to its actions of August 5, 2019, but for the kind information of Pakistan nothing has been done illegally on August 5, 2019, although India’s decision to revoke the special status of Jammu and Kashmir outraged Pakistan, which is the problem of that nation not India.
