J&K MARCHING AHEAD
What was a dream a decade ago has become a reality today in J&K as the UT is progressing with unprecedented pace after the BJP Government led by PM Narendra Modi took over the reins of the country. Among various parameters, pace of construction of roads is the one which has seen landmark achievement as reportedly the average road macadamization of over 20 kilometers is being recorded per day for the last three years, which was over 6 kilometers before 2019. This data which came into public domain has been lying with the Ministry of Home Affairs. As per the official document of MHA, the average macadamization of roads is 20.6 kilometers per day which has been considerably increased as it was 6.54 per day before 2019. Surely, the UT of J&K is witnessing unprecedented progress under the BJP government as PM Modi has special affinity towards this region which he has affirmed during many occasions and has given standing instructions to the concerned officials not to take things lightly when it is the case of this region which is very close to his heart. There is no doubt that the roads are the lifeline of any region and by doing so much to upgrade the roads of J&K the government has proved that it will steer the UT to new heights of development. As per the records of the Home Ministry, the road length in J&K has increased to 41,141 kilometers and the percentage of blacktop roads has reached 74 percent, which in 2019 was merely 66 percent. This is the testimony to the fact that J&K is marching ahead with stride and the losses incurred by the step motherly treatment meted out to this region by the successive governments in the last over 70 years will be covered up by the Modi Government in days to come as infrastructure development in J&K is top on agenda. Besides, J&K has achieved 2127 kilometers under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana which was 1622 kilometers prior to 2019, leading the UT to 3rd slot at national level. Apart from these, there are so many other projects which are currently ensuring Kayakalp of J&K and soon will be ready to provide succor to the people of the UT which remained deprived of development for decades together due to apathy of governments in the past.
