Former legislator Surinder Choudhary Joins BJP

Former MLC and influential leader Surendra Chaudhary, known for his special identity among the people of the border belt of Rajouri district, has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in Jammu on Tuesday.

Chaudhary joined the party along with many of his supporters in the presence of his top leaders, including the National General Secretary and BJP in-charge of J&K Tarun Chugh. Chaudhary had resigned from the membership of PDP last year, saying that “drawing-room politicians and land grabbers” have captured the PDP. The ideology of former Chief Minister Late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has been destroyed.

One year after leaving the party, he has now joined the BJP. He says that he has joined BJP after the approval of his area’s people and aims to work in the people’s interest.

Surendra Chaudhary has contested the 2014 assembly election from the Nowshera assembly constituency against BJP President Ravinder Raina. Meanwhile, Raina lost the election by a small margin despite the huge Modi wave. From this, it can be guessed that he has a lot of hold among the people of this area and joining BJP is sure to benefit the party in this area.

After Joining BJP, Chaudhary said that he had not joined BJP for any political greed. He has joined BJP only to fulfil the expectations of the people. He has been raising the issues of farmers and border people with the government from time to time, and he is very sure that after joining BJP, he will fulfil all the needs of his people.
