A delegation of LoC residents of Poonch District called on Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu at the Raj Bhavan here today.
The delegation headed by Mohammad Rafiq Chisti comprising of Sarpanches- Mohammad Isak Khan, Mohammad Yousuf, Mohammad Tariq and Nazar Din Dar apprised the Lt Governor of various issues and demands of the inhabitants along the LoC including establishment of First Aid Centre at Village Qasba, Ambulance for border area, construction of more bunkers , upgradation of High School Bandi Chechian, preference for appointing the educated unemployed Youth residing within the range of two kilometers from the border as Constables, SPOs and porters in Army with relaxation in education and height criteria and enhancement in compensation to the injured in border firing.
The delegation also raised the demands for the start of work on Jammu-Poonch railway line, grant of status of model village to village Chandak and resumption of Jammu-Poonch helicopter service.
The Lt Governor gave a patient hearing to the members of the delegation and assured them to address the issues raised by them.
