Work in Courts remain suffered

JKUT (Jammu), September-22-2021-( JNF):-   The work in High Court Jammu Wing as well as District Court Jammu remained suffered as Advocate supported the bandh call given by Jammu Chambers of Commerce.

During the Press Conference given by President Jammu & Kashmir High Court Bar Association Jammu Srr. Adv MK Bhardwaj said that the unprecedented response which the Jammu Bandh call has evoked, particularly from all the Bar Associations, and different sections of the society should act as an eye opener for the Union Territory Administration as it reflects the deep hurt in the hearts and minds of people of Jammu region on the step-motherly treatment being meted out to them particularly on the bread and butter issues. All sections of the society including lawyers, traders, youth, women, underprivileged and downtrodden and above the farmers should be complemented for making the bandh successful and peaceful.

He further said that we in the Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association, Jammu (JKHCBAJ) profusely thank the lawyers fraternity and different Bar Associations of Jammu region for whole heartedly responding to our call and supporting the Bandh. It is heartening to note that the lawyers fraternity, which has always been on the fore-front to fight for public causes, have set a new example of registering their protest in the most disciplined manner as also people of different sections of the society and members of a large number of associations and organisations. I on behalf of the JKHCBAJ and its office-bearers express my gratitude to the fellow lawyers for not only responding positively to the bandh call but adding to the glory of the fraternity through their peaceful conduct.

The strongest weapon in a democracy is the Gandhian way of peaceful protest which was reflected in the manner today’s Bandh was observed. The Administration should not undermine the power of this peaceful protest and treat it as a wakeup call and desist from pursuing anti-Jammu people policies. It will be in no one’s interest if the Administration goes on taking decisions and implementing policies that directly hit peoples’ and professionals’ bread-earning. Such a tendency will only keep strife in the region which is not even in the national interest.

BAR appeal to the Administration to revisit its decisions, be it those affecting the legal fraternity, or traders, farmers, youth and women, and address their grievances speedily lest they are forced to pursue further action.
