JAMMU, Feb 4: Shri Ram Sena (SRS), Jammu and Kashmir has deplored the recent action of the newly appointed Secretary Sports Council wherein a well-known cricketer Abid Nabi was suspended besides demanding probe into previous allegations of irregularities of the Officer while serving as Secretary Kashmir Golf course. While talking to reporters in a press conference here, J&K president SRS, Rajiv Mahajan said that the name of the Secretary also figured in the Golf course scam in which the Jammu and Kashmir Bank had diverted a huge sum of Rs 50 crore for Kashmir Golf Course and grave irregularities were reported in different sections of media and the case was referred to the Anti-Corruption Bureau for investigation. He said that the Chief Secretary in the year 2019 had also on record said that Rs 50 cr had been diverted to the golf course and deplored the action of the concerned involved in the diversion and execution as well. He said that the recent action of the officer has created a sense of deprivation and despondency in the youth and speaks about the mindset of the concerned that instead of promoting the sports taste and activities, a bad has been created in the minds of young and aspiring sports persons. He appealed the LG in order to make his assurance of good and corruption free governance on ground must intervene in the aforesaid matter and set things right by holding an impartial enquiry into the matter of the allegations of financial misconduct of the aforesaid officer. This would also give credence to the motive of Prime Minister’s corruption free and accountable administration by ensuring that the officers with doubtful integrity are not given key posting, he added.
