Member Parliament Jammu Poonch Constituency Jugal Kishore along with senior functionaries of district administration led by Deputy Commissioner Jammu Sushma Chouhan today visited several rainfall hit areas of Suchetgarh including Shibhu Chak to assess the damages to crops.
During his visit, the MP inspected the agriculture crop fields and interacted with the affected farmers, assuring them all possible help from the administration.
The Member Parliament was accompanied by former Minister Sham Lal Choudhary, besides Revenue, Agriculture and other concerned officers.
He also took stock of the present situation and asked Deputy Commissioner Jammu to prepare a strategy envisaging immediate relief to the affected farmers of the area.
While taking round of the villages of Suchetgarh block and interacting with affected farmers, Jugal Kishore said that Jammu Kashmir has a long history of being hit by floods, heavy rainfalls/hailstorms causing damage to crops, livestock and property. He assured the farmers of every kind of support from the centre in this regard, besides every help whatsoever required to them.
He assured the farmers that the district administration will soon start preparing the list of affected farmers with damages of crops so that the relief measures are initiated at the earliest.
Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Sushma Chauhan, gave on the spot directions to the officers of the concerned departments to prepare the crop damage report and submit the same within 10 days. She also assured to provide immediate relief to the affected farmers.
