Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Farooq Khan today visited the revered Hazratbal shrine and paid obeisance there.
The Advisor prayed for peace, harmony and prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir, urging people to come forward and help the Government in realizing the dream of development across the State.
Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan, Senior Superintendent of Police, Srinagar, Dr. Haseeb Mughal, senior civil and Police officers besides officials of Waqaf Board accompanied the Advisor during the visit.
During the visit, the Advisor took stock of the on-going developmental works at the revered shrine while directing the officials to speed up its on-going developmental works. He said he would soon take an in-depth review of the developmental works at the Shrine.
The Advisor, on the occasion, ordered a fire-safety audit of Hazratbal Shrine. “An immediate fire-safety audit must be conducted at the Shrine,” he directed the officials, adding “We must ensure that devotees pay obeisance at the shrine without any hassles,” Khan said. He directed installation of fire hydrants, smoke alarms and CCTVs to prevent fire occurrence at the revered shrine.
Earlier, the Advisor held a public grievances camp at Srinagar wherein he directed the officials to ensure timely redressal of grievances.
On the occasion, several delegations, associations and individuals apprised the Advisor about the issues of public importance.
A delegation from Housing Colony, Bemina sought reopening of road link to the colony. They informed the Advisor that the people were facing immense hardships due to the closure of the road by PHE department.
Another deputation from Nowgam, Srinagar sought Advisor’s intervention into the release of loan under EDI’s entrepreneurship scheme.
A delegation of employees of Srinagar Municipal Corporation pleaded that all their genuine issues may be addressed on priority.
Other delegations and individuals also flagged their issues and demands for their immediate redressal.
While listening to grievances and demands, the Advisor directed all the concerned officials to resolve their complaints in a timely manner.
