Div Com Jammu reviews winter preparedness, stock & supply position in districts

Divisional Commissioner Jammu,  Sanjeev Verma  today reviewed winter preparedness including stock -supply position of essential commodities in the  district here at a marathon meeting with heads of various departments and Deputy Commissioners.

The meeting was attended by SSP Traffic National Highways; Project Director NHM; DGM, NHIDCL; Chief Engineer, JPDCL; Chief Engineer, Irrigation and Flood Control; Deputy Director Health Services, Jammu, besides senior officers of Jal Shakti, FCS&CA, PWD, Oil Companies and other concerned officers. The Deputy Commissioners of Jammu division districts  along with other concerned officers attended the meeting through video conference.

 

The Div Com took district wise review of power supply, snow clearance and overall winter preparedness in the districts. The Deputy Commissioners apprised the Divisional Commissioner about the water, power supply position, availability of ration, petroleum products and other essentials and overall winter preparedness in their respective districts.

While reviewing status of power scenario after recent rains and snow fall, the meeting was informed that power supply has been restored in all the districts and the buffer stock of transformers has also been made available for the replacement wherever need arises.

It was also informed that men and machinery is in place to restore the power supply and clearance of snow  to make roads traffic worthy.

The Divisional Commissioner directed the JPDCL to ensure availability of sufficient buffer stock of transformers in all the districts.

Meanwhile, the Div Com sought details of availability of food grains, LPG,  medicines and other essential commodities in the districts. The DCs apprised the Div Com about the stocks and supply position available. It was informed that the process of stocking of essentials in difficult and snow bound areas has been completed.

The Div Com directed  the FCS&CA department to make available adequate food grains, fuel and all essential commodities for the people throughout the winter season.

The Div Com also passed directions to health services to keep sufficient stock of life saving medicines, surgical goods and other necessary medicines to avoid deficiency  in the districts.

Keeping in view of Covid pandemic, he also directed the concerned officers to ensure 100% availability of doctors and medical staff in the hospitals to provide timely and better facilities to the people.
