Ashok took an extensive tour to Kabi, Bhatni and Duthan

Ashok Kumar Former Legislature from Ramban took an extensive tour to Kabi, Bhatni and Dhuthanand listen to the grievances of general public and urged upon the Lieutenant Governor to direct the concerned authorities of PMGSY to restore the cutting works of Kothi-Jagir to Duthan-Jagirwhich is pending from several years due to negligence of the higher authorities of the PMGSY. The people of the Duthan and it’s peripheral villages are being isolated from the rest of the world. It is imperative to mention that this road will also give connectivity to far flung villages of Udhampur and Reasi Districtas the area borders with both Udhampur and Reasi District. On the contrary, thousandsof people are suffering due to inaccessibility of the road as the result of prolonged delay in work.

Meanwhile, in a public meeting at Bhatni, Ashok said that the villages such as Gandhri, Kabbi, Bhatni and (Surnikundand Shankpaldevta) have a huge potential of tourism. However, this region has been ignored by successive government which has resulted into a great regional disparity in Jammu and Kashmir. He said this region should be brought under tourist map of Jammu and Kashmir. It also deserves Cable car services from Bhatni to Surnikund, Surnikund to Ladhadhar and Ladhadhar to Shankpaldevta. This entire natural landscape is abundant with green lush meadows.

Ashok has strongly demanded to the J&K government that there should be one Model Higher Secondary School at Bhatni and Model High School at Duthan as students have to trek more than 15 Kmsin dense forest. Thus, it becomes essential to sanction one higher secondary school at Bhatni and one high school at Duthan. It will also benefit in upliftment of girl’s education in rural areas.

Ashok has further said that the region is approximately above 5500 feet and a heavy snow bound area especially during winters. He urged upon the concerned authorities to sanction solar light to each house. It will also promote renewable energy resources. Ashok has also stressed upon the Director School Education and Director health to immediately fill up the vacant posts of teachers(5 Master gradepost )at High School Bhatniand ( vacant doctors and para-medical staff) at Primary Health Centre Bhatni. At last, he also demanded for the inclusion of Kanga to Kabbilink road in PMGSY as the road has been ignored by R&B department from last several years.
