On the eve of the ‘Teachers Day’ former Member Legislative Council (MLC), Ch. Vikram Randhawa, today honoured Ram Lal, Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM), RS Pura, who has taught him during his school days.
Randhawa today visited the office of the SDM RS Pura and presented his teacher a memento and a shawl after touching his feet as mark of respect towards those who educate a person to become a reputed citizen. While speaking on the occasion Randhawa said that ‘Teachers’ have great significance in shaping the future of a person. He said that one remains indebted throughout his life to teachers as they not only educate them but also enlighten them through their experiences to lead a respectable life.
Randhawa said that without education no one can become a good human as knowledge comes through education and to get education one has to go to a teacher. He said that in earlier times the teachers were given great respect as they were the only source of knowledge but with the modernization the children are now treating ‘Google’ as their guru. He said that technology is must in the modern times but still the significance of teachers has not lost its importance. He urged upon the students to respect their teachers as they make enlighten them through their knowledge to become reputable citizens in the society.
He also urged upon the parents to inculcate the values of respect for teachers among their children so that they respect them. He said that parents must encourage their children to go to their teachers to pay respect on ‘Teachers Day’. “Moreover, if parents would themselves go to their teachers, the children would automatically follow this”, he added.
SDM RS Pura showered his blessings on Vikram Randhawa for his success in future.
