Ashok Kumar Former Legislature, Ramban has led a strong protestagainst the Higher Authorities of BRO (GREF), National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) and Gammon Company for restoration of Old Alignment Road from Ramban to Karol bridge along with double lane black topping as military personnel and convoy, patients, students and local commuters are facing lot of difficulties due to bad condition and sinking of road at several places between Ramban and Karol in Old Alignment Road. Concerned higher authorities should take immediate measures for early restoration of this strategic important and busiest route which connects District Headquarters Ramban, Police Headquarters, Fire brigade, Chanderbhaga Transit campand other places such as Dharmkund, Sangaldan and Gool.
Ashok has stressed that the NHAI and Gammon Company has created landslides and sinking of roads near Ramban town due to unplanned and unscientific cutting of road in the process of construction of fly over of NH-44 at Ramban town. Ashok has claimed that there is water logging on the old alignment road and there is never ending landslides and sinking of roads which have further made many houses in the town on the verge of sinkingdue to Gammon Company works.
Ashok has further stressed upon the higher authorities of BRO (GREF) that double lane black topping should be done on old alignment road as there is rapid increase in traffic bulk of Heavy and light vehicles due to railways companies work at Sangaldan and other places. Therefore, air pollution has become everyday phenomena and people are suffering badlybecause of air pollution related diseases. Government, Air Pollution Control board and concerned authorities should take immediate measures to control the daily pollution menace.
Ashok has further demanded to install Crash Barriers on all the dangerous spots of old alignment road to minimize the injury to vehicle occupants. At last, Ashok has strongly demanded that old alignment road from Ramban to Karol should be repair and restore immediately with double lane black topping and roadside crash barriers for the smooth movement of heavy and bulk traffics along with safety.
