A youth was murdered by his cousin over property dispute in the south Kashmir district of Pulwama late Wednesday, official sources said on Thursday.
They said there was dispute between two families over property in village Chandhara, Pampore, in Pulwama. However, last night both the families clashed with each other, they said adding one Aijaz Ahmad attacked his cousin Adil Ahmad Dar with a sharp edged weapon.
Adil was immediately rushed to hospital where he succumbed, they said adding Aijaz fled from the spot after the incident.
However, a police team immediately swung into action and arrested Aijaz at Gallandar crossing on Srinagar-Jammu national highway late last night. Weapon of the offence has also been recovered, they said adding a case has been registered and further investigation taken up.
