Countries around the world raced to develop a vaccine for coronavirus (Covid-19) as the pandemic continues to rage. Worldwide there are at least 21.5 million coronavirus cases and over 765,000 confirmed deaths.
The United States remained the global epicentre of the virus, with around a quarter of the cases and deaths.
According to figures published on John Hopkins’ website, Covid-19 fatalities surpassed 170,000 in the US while the number of cases are more than 5.4 million.
