In the much publicized complaint of Ex-Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh against Advocate Sheikh Shakeel Ahmed regarding alleged trespassing into his residential house at Village Panjgrian, District Jammu, Nagrota Police today issued a questionnaire to the whistle blower asking him to reply the seven questions framed by the Enquiry Officer i.e. SHO, Police Station, Nagrota. The questions posed to Advocate S.S. Ahmed ask him to explain his facebook post dated June, 15, 2020 wherein he had attached the photographs of the house of Former Deputy CM mentioning that the house in question is illegal and is being opposed by the Indian Army on the ground that the construction is illegal and threat to the nearest vital Defence Installations including Ammunition Depot and also in violation of the interim directions issued by the State High Court on May, 7, 2018.
The questionnaire giving reference of Dr. Nirmal Singh’s complaint further ask Advocate S.S. Ahmed that he alongwith others have taken the photographs and trespassed into the legal premises of the Former Deputy CM to make him and his family vulnerable (safety/security) and breached the privacy and security of the Former Speaker and Former Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh. It also ask Advocate S.S. Ahmed to provide the source of photographs and the details how he carried the information in the form of photograph/pictures in the social media.
The questionnaire accusing Advocate of malafide intention in his post asked him to explain his position as to why he alongwith others are hell bent to cause harm to Dr. Nirmal Singh and his property/criminal intimidation and spreading the information without any basis or evidence.
Advocate S.S. Ahmed on June, 15, 2020 had posted few photographs on his Facebook of the Controversial Bungalow of Former Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh contending that he is raising the construction despite objections by Indian Army and despite the pendency of a writ petition (OWP No.865/2018) titled Union of India V/s State of J&K & Ors in the J&K High Court wherein interim directions have been issued on May, 7, 2018 for enforcing a Notification No.2772/DCJ/LHS/GN-Ban/Army/01/2015-968/13 dated August, 7, 2015 issued by Deputy Commissioner, Jammu banning constructions within 1000 yards from the crest of outer parapet of the works of Defence i.e. nearest Ammunition Depot.
Furious over the facebook post Dr. Nirmal Singh Former Deputy Chief Minister and a public figure on July, 5, 2020 lodged a two pages complaint against Advocate S.S. Ahmed and others seeking lodging of FIR. The Nagrota Police initiated a preliminary inquiry into the matter and subsequently Advocate S.S. Ahmed appeared before SHO P/S Nagrota on July, 31, 2020 and supplied relevant documents viz. orders of the J&K High Court, newspaper clippings dated May, 13, 2018 of New Indian Express, NDTV Story dated May, 13, 2018, National Herald dated May, 14, 2018, Indian Express dated May, 15, 2018, Indian Express dated May, 17, 2018 and Indian Express dated May, 21, 2018 that had carried pictures, videos and detailed stories about the alleged illegal construction of Dr. Nirmal Singh’s house. Not only this Advocate S.S. Ahmed also sent a communication to the IGP Jammu, SSP Jammu, SDPO Nagrota and SHO P/S Nagrota explaining the different dimensions of the entire controversy and contending that the issue is already in public domain and no offence has been committed by him.
After these developments during last fortnight, the Enquiry Officer-SHO Police Station Nagrota has issued a questionnaire asking Advocate S.S. Ahmed to explain his position in the matter.
It is worthwhile to mention herein that Dr. Nirmal Singh who was occupying a Ministerial Bungalow Near Circuit House, Jammu few days back vacated the same and has reportedly moved to his newly constructed residential house at Village Panjgrian Nagrota, Jammu on July, 23, 2020, pictures of which were also posted on Facebook by Dr. Nirmal Singh and his wife Mamta Singh.
