Additional District Development Commissioner Ashok Kumar today convened a meeting of District Level Monitoring Committee to review the effective implementation of Self Help Groups of Engineers scheme in the district Udhampur.
Deputy Director Employment, Subash Dogra, Chief Agriculture Officer, Satish Bhagat and other district officers/officials of various departments besides representatives of Self Help Groups of Engineers attended the meeting.
Deputy Director Employment, Subash Dogra gave a brief of the number works executed by SHGs and quantum of total annual outlay set-aside by different departments for SHGs. He informed the meeting that total 31 Self help groups are registered in the district.
The ADDC reviewed the quantum of works allotted to SHGs by different departments during fiscal 2019-20. He directed all the departments to ensure that government guidelines regarding earmarking of 30% funds of each fiscal for SHGs of Engineers are strictly adhered to.
ADDC also instructed the representatives of SHGs to ensure quality of works executed besides meeting the timelines fixed by concerned departments. He stressed upon the SHG members to expedite allotted works as per guidelines and complete the project within set time frame to arrest time and cost overrun.
The representatives of all the SHGs apprised the ADDC about issues hindering smooth allocation and execution of development works including non-allocation of prescribed 30% share by other departments to SHGs and minuscule quantum of individual works allotted by other departments.
