National Panthers Party has welcomed the decision of CEC vis-à-vis constitutional status of J&K regarding State Assembly, criticizing the statement made by Lt. Governor of J&K on interference into the constitutional sphere of the Election Commission of India. CEC has very clearly, boldly and straight away asked the Lt. Governor of J&K not to interfere with the jurisdiction of constitutional power vested in the CEC on the electoral field even in J&K.
Prof.Bhim Singh, Chief Patron of J&K National Panthers Party in his letter has admired the role of Election Commission of India vis-à-vis its jurisdiction in regard to electoral affairs, Assembly elections etc. in Jammu and Kashmir.NPP Secretariat welcomed the statement made by the Election Commission of India telling straight away the Lt. Governor of J&K not to interfere with the jurisdiction of holding Assembly election in Jammu and Kashmir.
NPP Secretariat called this declaration of CEC as eye-opener for all those who understand the decision making power of Election Commission of India vis-à-vis Assembly which has been very clearly conveyed to the Lt. Governor of J&K that holding Assembly election in J&K is not under the authority/jurisdiction of Lt. Governor of J&K, but falls within the power of CEC alone. The Panthers Party has also received congratulatory messages from several political weights on the declaration of CEC which deserves an urgent attention of the Union of India and its leadership that Lt. Gover nor of a Union Territo ry of J&K has no compet ence or authority to hold elections or deal with electoral affairs of the Union Territory. NPP Secretariat has urged the President of India, Shri Ramnath Kovind to act fast as per the mandate of the Constitution in the light of the meaningful remarks by CEC on the conduct statement of Lt. Governor.
NPP Supremo has also urged the President of India to restore the statehood of J&K and appoint a Governor so that electoral process including Assem bly election shall be taken fast in the interest of democracy and rule of law in J&K.
