Union Minister Prakash Javadekar hit back at Rahul Gandhi after the Congress leader questioned the Narendra Modi-led government over its handling of the coronavirus pandemic.
Prakash Javadekar asked Rahul Gandhi to note India’s achievements in the war against coronavirus as he accused the Congress leader of insulting corona warriors.
Taking a dig at Rahul Gandhi, Prakash Javadekar listed out the ‘achievements’ of the Congress leader. “Note your achievements in the last 6 months – February: Shaheen Bagh and Riots; March: Losing Jyotiraditya and MPApril: Instigating migrant labourersMay: 6th anniversary of the historic defeat of the CongressJune: Defending ChinaJuly: Congress on virtual collapse in Rajasthan,” Prakash Javadekar tweeted on Tuesday. The Union Minister added: “Rahul Baba note India’s achievements in “war against Corona”. India has the least average cases, active cases and death rate than the US, Europe and Brazil. By making fun of candle lights, @RahulGandhi ji you have insulted the people of India and brave corona warriors.”
Earlier in the day, Rahul Gandhi had listed the alleged “attempt to topple” the government in Rajasthan and the “Namaste Trump” event as among the Centre’s “achievements” amid Covid-19.
Rahul Gandhi had said due to such “achievements” of the government, the country is now ‘aatmanirbhar’ in the fight against the pandemic.
“Achievements of the government in the COVID-era: February — Namaste Trump, March– toppling the government in Madhya Pradesh, April — making people light candles, May — government’s sixth anniversary, June — Bihar virtual rally, July — Attempt to topple the government in Rajasthan,” Rahul Gandhi had said in the tweet.
