Bhopal-based newspaper owner Pyare Miyan, who is accused of allegedly raping six minor girls in Madhya Pradesh, has been arrested from a hotel in this summer capital, official sources said here on Thursday.
Official sources said that Miyan was wanted in Bhopal after five minor girls filed a complaint of rape against him. “Following specific information, a team of Bhopal Police left for Delhi via train on Tuesday night. The team reached Srinagar from Delhi by a flight on Wednesday,” they said.
They said the team alongwith J&K Police arrested the accused from a hotel in Khanyar area. “The police team will return to Bhopal on Thursday,” they added.
A reward of Rs 30,000 was announced for any information leading to the arrest of the accused by a Special Investigative Team (SIT) formed to probe the case.
