District Development Commissioner, Dr. Piyush Singla today monitored the transactions under one nation one ration card scheme (ONORC) and reviewed the progress for effective implementation of the scheme in Udhampur District.
While briefing the media persons, the DDC said that under this integrated management public distribution system the beneficiary of any state/District /Tehsil can avail their subsidized ration from anywhere in the country. He added that the first and foremost criteria for availing ration under ONORC is the Aadhar enabled authentication/ transaction by the beneficiary.
The DDC said that the seeding of Aadhar with the respective ration card is mandatory. This scheme is rolled out on trial basis for 22 Fair Price Shops (FPS) in the first phase, whose Aadhar seeding percentage is above 90. 22 trials of interstate/intrastate, inter/intra District were completed successfully.
He reiterated that this scheme will cover the entire 179 depots of ration in the district, any beneficiary can avail his/ her monthly ration from any ration depot by Aadhar enabled transaction only, which is a welcoming step by the Government of India.
The DDC asked all rationees to link their adhaar number with their respective ration cards to avail the facility.
