Division Bench of J&K High Court Comprising Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice Sanjay Dhar directed to AAG Aseem Sawhney to file report positively on July 11, 2020.
When the matter was taken-up for hearing, AAG Aseem Sawhney appearing for the UT submitted that he is in the process of compiling the reports received from eight districts who are involved in Shri Amar Nath Yatra and prays for short adjournment to file his report on record.
It is worthwhile to mention here that Earlier, High Court directed AAG to place the proposal and decision of the Government with regard to the Shri Amar Nath Yatra and the manner in which the COVID-19 precautions shall be ensured in case Shri Amar Nath Yatra is permitted and the manner in which the respondents would ensure the issues relating to the COVID-9 infection. The AAG was further directed to give full details of the manner in which the respondents propose to provide for quarantine of suspected patients and treatment of COVID-19 during the Yatra.
This significant order has been passed in an application filed by Adv Sachin Sharma seeking direction to Govt of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir/ Shri Amarnath Shrine Board and all other relevant agencies not to commence Shri Amarnath Yatra-2020 without satisfying this Court on all counts of preparedness and especially in view of growing COVID-19 pandemic.
