Terrorists trying to silence nationalist voices in Kashmir: Randhawa

Former Member Legislative Council (MLC), Ch. Vikram Randhawa, has strongly condemned the brutal killing of BJP leader and his family members in Bandipora district of Kashmir yesterday by unidentified gunmen.

While expressing deep shock over the assassination of Sheikh Waseem Bari, his father and brother Randhawa said that the terrorists are trying to silence the nationalist forces in Kashmir valley on gun points. Terming the death of the Bari and his family members a great loss to the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) and loss to the nationalism Randhawa said that those trying to silence nationalist forces would never succeed in their designs. He said that the killers of Bari and his family members would soon meet their fate.

Randhawa further said that the killing of Bari is a personal loss to him as he was among one best friends. He expressed his condolences to the family and prayed to the almighty for eternal peace to the departed souls and to give strength to family members to bear this irreparable loss.

Pertinent to mention that Sheikh Waseem Bari, a local BJP leader and two members of his family were shot dead by suspected terrorists in Kashmir’s Bandipore district late on Wednesday evening. Sheikh Waseem Bari was a former president of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Bandipora district.

Sheikh Waseem Bari’s father Basheer Ahmad and brother Umar were also killed in the attack that took place at his shop in Bandipore.

Bari was a young BJP leader, who was a well-known figure in Bandipore district.
