National Conference Senior Leader anf former MLA from Ganderbal Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar on Thursday telephonically raised wide range of issues of public importance with Lt Governor G C Murmu and shared with the him his views about the prevailing scenario in Jammu and Kashmir.
In a statement issued here, the former MLA Informed the Governor about several serious developmental issues relating to Ganderbal Constituency which require high priority attention and also requested him for early redressal of the long pending issues of workers, of various departments and SRO 202. He also discussed with Governor certain impediments which were delaying the implementation of several important development schemes in Ganderbal district.
Ishfaq Jabbar said the COVID-19 lockdown has surely impacted almost all economic sectors across the country, however, in Jammu and Kashmir these restrictions have exponentially incremented to the losses of industrialists, business, traders, transporters and shopkeepers.
He raised the issue of CUK, HEP-II, Pandach-Beehama Road Widening, Degree and professional college for Ganderbal, District Hospital Ganderbal, Unani Hospital Nawabagh, Lift irrigation schemes, PMGSY roads, upgradation of schools and infra structure, upgradation of sports fields, Mohan Marag Lal Marag development, floating garden at Manasbal besides other issues demands and languish projects which are on hault due to COVID-19 lockdown. He also demanded that work on Sind Extention Canal at Malshahibagh should be expedited and free ration should be provided to the affected farmers.
He briefed Governor G C Murmu about pending wages and demand for regularization of casual labourers, daily rated and ITI workers, revocation of SRO-202.
Governor G C Murmu assured the former MLA that all his genuine demands would be addressed at an earliest and he will visit Ganderbal and will take a review of departmental works. He urged him to continue his positive endeavours for promoting a peaceful environment which would enhance people’s welfare and enable rapid development.
