The Jammu Province People’s Forum (JPPF), an organisation advocating cause of Dogras, on Thursday asked government to revoke the SRO-202 immediately as it has no relevance under newly formed Union Territory of J&K.
Working President of JPPF, M S Katoch, while taking to reporters, asked government to revoke the aforesaid SRO immediately as it has no relevance under newly formed J&K UT, the constitution which allowed the Govt to issue such ordinances is not in existence today.
Hence the revocation of SRO 202 is the prime need of the hour, he said and added that how the Govt can play with the career of thousands of youth by paying them less salaries and appointing them on temporary basis for a long period of five years and thereafter again they have to qualify the test in order to secure their position on permanent basis.
“It is nothing else than to exploit the youth of the this hilly area where already no resources/opportunities are not available for the unemployed youth to meet the both ends comfortably,” he said.
We appreciate the step of Lt Governor Girish Chandra Murmu to advertise nearly 10,000 posts for the youth of UT of J&K but, Katoch said, that the recruitment should be made on regular basis and not under SRO 202 as this SRO is discriminatory in nature and is ineffective, does not provide due share for which the youth are entitled.
JPPF demanded that SRO 202 should be revoked and no recruitment should be made as it is a sheer humiliation to the youth even the employment already made be regularized at the earliest so that appointees should not suffer any more.
Further he mentioned that remuneration of the candidate selected under SRO 202 is just half of the remuneration of the candidate selected under regular mode, when the people selected under SRO 202 has to perform the same job profile as in the case of candidates selected under regular mode then why a candidate is given less salary.
Moreover SRO 202 is an old document and should not be made alive in the newly formed Union Territory of J&K and it should be made ineffective immediately.
He requested Lt Governor G C Murmu to look into the matter personally so as to not demoralize the youth of J&K for none of their faults. In the end he said that the matter may pleased be treated on urgent basis in order to stop the exploitation of youth of J&K.
