Ishfaq Jabbar raised issue of DH Ganderbal with Atull Dullo, DC Ganderbal

Urges administration to resume IPD, OPD and other services at District Hospital Ganderbal.

Ganderbal 19 May: National Conference Senior Leader and former MLA Ganderbal Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar today telephonically raised the issue of District Hospital Ganderbal with Finanacial Commissioner Health Atull Dullo and Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal Shafaqat Iqbal and urged them to resume the OPD and IPD facilities at District Hospital Ganderbal which were suspended on March 26.

In a statement issued here, Sheikh Ishfaq said that as now the Government has declared Ganderbal as Orange Zone, the District Hospital Ganderbal should be dropped from the list of COVID-19 and should be opened for common patients.

Mr Jabbar apprised them about the suffering of hundreds of poor patients and said that there has been spike in the non-COVID deaths in Ganderbal district those with chronic illnesses have developed complicacies due to lack of treatment. He said that people don’t want to go SKIMS nearest hospital to district Ganderbal as there is fear of getting Corona infection and the private hospitals have also stopped giving consultations to patients.

He said that doctors and health staff other than COVID-19 duty is sitting idle in hospital as patient inflow is very less. “These doctors are either sitting at home or have no work in the hospitals. Only a dozen COVID-19 patients at present need hospitalization, the COVID patients who need hospitalization need to be admitted and rest should be sent home for quarantine” he added.

Mr Jabbar said pregnancy cases, surgery cases and other patient care sections should be restored at District Hospital Ganderbal which were shifted to Primary Health Centre Kachan and Trauma Hospital Kangan.

He appealed Governor Administration to revive their decision and shift COVID-19 affected patients to some other place or hospital of the district and urge them for immediate restoration of normal health activities at DH Ganderbal.
