An encounter broke out between security forces and the terrorists in the Kanemazar Nawakdal area of Srinagar. The Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Central Reserve Police Force have taken up the front. Jammu and Kashmir DGP Dilbag Singh said that the search operation was conducted in Srinagar on Monday night after getting information from a reliable source of police. There was also a shootout in the night. The DGP said that firing has started again in the morning and the encounter is going on. Seeing that no rumors spread about the encounter, the administration has closed the mobile internet in Srinagar.
According to information received from the sources, during the search operation, the security forces encountered the terrorists at around three in the morning. Meanwhile, the terrorists attacked the security forces with a grenade. However, the grenade fell before the security forces, in which three jawans were slightly injured. Two of them are from Jammu and Kashmir Police and one from CRPF. The encounter continues. This operation is being done very carefully by the security forces because it is a densely populated residential area. All the routes around the site of the encounter have been completely closed.
It has been learned that the administration has temporarily stopped the mobile internet service in Srinagar in view of no rumors about the encounter. Calling facility is running only on BSNL postpaid. This encounter is taking place in Srinagar after almost two years.
