Appreciating the administration for working industriously, tirelessly and round the clock to ensure return of stranded people, Brig Anil Gupta, Spokesperson of Bharatiya Janata Party has taken the Congress to task for unnecessary niggling the Administration. Earlier In a press conference addressed by JKPCC Chief, he had blamed the UT administration for mismanagement and alleged that the systems put in place by the government wereunsympathetic, ineffective and non-responsive. Brig Gupta countering the Congress Chief said that till date 50000 stranded J&K citizens have been moved by road by the administration which by no standards is a small number. The successful Inter-State movement of such a huge number ensuring their proper screening at the Lakhanpur entry point and thereafter moving them to their respective home districts can by no means be termed as mismanaged or ineffective. The number roughly equals to movement of an infantry division by road and those who have been involved in managing movements of such magnitude can only understand the amount of planning, coordination and hard work involved in organising such movements asserted Brig Gupta. Rather than appreciating the government for a job well done, Congress as usual is busy in its old game of ‘criticism just for the heck of it’ stated Brig Gupta.
The process is ongoing and the buses carrying students from Madhya Pradesh, Delhi and other places are on its way to Lakhanpur. Brig Gupta also refuted the allegations that students are being told to arrange their own buses. Frustrated voices are found everywhere but they need not necessarily be true. Let anybody claim or prove that they have moved in buses arranged solely by them, on the other hand only yesterday students from Kashmir studying in JamiaMilia have been sent in a bus organised by the University as claimed by the Registrar of the University. The government has further announced running of 15 special trainswef May 12 from Delhi to different state capitals that would further facilitate the move of stranded students stated Brig Gupta.
In addition the Ministry of Railways is running 300 Shramik trains to facilitate move by rail of stranded migrant labour and students as per the requirement of state/UT governments. Two such trains have left Bengaluru and Goa yesterday and would be arriving at Udhampur with about 2500 stranded students and labour. Even this is a tremendous logistics exercise undertaken by the administration and is worth appreciating rather than quibbling stated Brig Gupta. Mir has also misled the people by claiming that the train ex Goa is being run by the Congress. Rather than making such tall but false claims let the Congress provide at least free meals to the passengers. Even that is being done by the administration free of cost and the RSS volunteers are providing them water and snacks at intervening railway stations claimed Brig Gupta.
The sincerity and effectiveness of the administration can be gauged from the fact that first flight from Bangladesh was brought to Srinagar since the maximum students in that were from Kashmir. Chief Secretary has personally intervened by appealing to the union Foreign Secretary to lift the remainder students on priority so that they could celebrate Eid at home. Can there be a better example than this of concern and empathy, Brig Gupta questioned the Congress?
