
A meeting of the District Water and Sanitation Mission (DWSM) was convened today at the meeting hall of Mini- Secretariat, Shopian to comprehensively review the implementation status of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) schemes across the district.
The meeting was chaired by Dr. Nasir Ahmad Lone, Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Shopian.
During the meeting, the Executive Engineer, Jal Shakti (PHE) Division Shopian, Abdul Rashid Wani through detailed presentation outlining the current progress and milestones of the ongoing water supply schemes in the district.
It was officially reported that 121 infrastructure works have been successfully completed under the flagship JJM programme in district Shopian till date.
To ensure the timely and efficient execution of the remaining projects, the ADDC issued stringent directives to the concerned to complete the projects for dedication to the public.
Executive Engineers were instructed to closely monitor and review sites where progress has slowed, ensuring lagging works are brought up to par immediately while strictly maintaining execution quality.
Furthermore, the ADDC directed the Executive Engineers of both the Civil and Mechanical wings to maintain seamless inter-departmental coordination to accelerate the momentum and ensure that all remaining works are completed well before the 2028 timeline.
The meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer, Executive Engineer, PHE, Mechanical, Awantipora, AEEs, AEs, JEs and other concerned.
