
BANDIPORA, APRIL 13: Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB) Bandipora on Monday organised an awareness camp under PMEGP and JKREGP schemes at Government Degree College (GDC) Sumbal.
The programme was aimed at spreading awareness among local youth, artisans and aspiring entrepreneurs about various government-sponsored self-employment schemes.
The camp witnessed the participation of Prof. Shabeena Iqbal Shawl, Principal GDC Sumbal; Dr. Nuzhat Gul, Convenor Career Counselling Cell; Lead District Manager Bandipora; representatives from the Financial Literacy and Credit Counselling Centre (FLCC); RSETI Bandipora; Bank officials and other line departments.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy CEO, KVIB Kashmir Division, highlighted the importance of PMEGP in creating sustainable livelihood opportunities at the grassroots level. He urged participants to come forward with viable projects.
Officials present on the occasion briefed the participants about the key features of PMEGP, including eligibility criteria, subsidy pattern and the procedure for availing financial assistance. They also emphasised KVIB’s role in facilitating and guiding beneficiaries throughout the process.
The camp also served as a platform to disseminate information about other government initiatives related to employment and entrepreneurship.
The programme concluded with an interactive session, during which participants raised queries and received clarifications from the officials.
