Anti-drug awareness events held across Doda district

DODA, APRIL 13: As part of the ongoing 100 day Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, Municipal Council Doda today hosted an awareness programme here in the Town Hall to educate the public about the harmful effects of drug abuse and promote a drug-free society.

Executive Officer MC Ravi Saini led the event witnessing active participation from municipal officials, community mobilizers, Swachhta executives and volunteers.

Speakers highlighted the serious risks associated with substance abuse, including its adverse effects on physical and mental health, breakdown of family and social structures and its long-term impact on the youth.

Tehsil Social Welfare Office Bhaderwah organized a comprehensive awareness programme here at Bus Stand to sensitize drivers, conductors and passengers to the harmful effects of drug abuse.

Pamphlets carrying messages on drug abuse prevention and helpline information were distributed among drivers, conductors and passengers to   spread awareness. The material emphasized the importance of a drug-free lifestyle and encouraged individuals to seek support in case of need. It also highlighted the role of community participation in preventing substance abuse and promoting a healthy society.

Government Degree College Kastigarh organized an informative and thought-provoking debate on the harmful effects of drug abuse. The   students confidently expressed their views and showcased a strong understanding of the issue.  Dhamni, Kavita, Neha, Priya, Anshuman, Rundher and Sandeep spoke eloquently on different aspects of substance abuse. The students highlighted the severe physical, psychological and social consequences of drug addiction.
