GDC Kakryal organises Padyatra to promote Drug-Free Society

REASI, APRIL 11: Government Degree College Kakryal, Katra on Saturday organized a Padyatra under the Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan, spreading awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse.

The Padyatra commenced from the college campus and culminated at Panthal Chowk, generating awareness among the local masses. Students participated enthusiastically, raising slogans against drug abuse throughout the route and reinforcing a strong anti-drug message in society.

The programme was conducted under the aegis of the College Principal, Dr. Rajni Bhagat. A large number of students from B.A. semesters took part in the rally with great zeal and commitment.

The event was coordinated by Prof. Mohammad Younus Saleem (Convener, NCORD) and Dr. Usha Sharma NSS Programme Officer.

 Dr. Sajad Iqbal Khan addressed the students and highlighted the severe physical, psychological and socio-economic consequences of drug abuse. He urged students to act as ambassadors of change and spread awareness in their respective communities.

The programme concluded with the students taking a pledge to contribute towards building a drug-free society. Among others present on the occasion included Dr. Abdul Hafiz, Dr. Bindu Rajput and Dr. Ishfaq Hussain Parray.
