
REASI, APRIL 08: The launch of the three-day Divisional Awareness Programme focusing on drug de-addiction, environmental protection and traffic awareness was live-streamed today in Reasi. The programme was addressed by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who emphasized the need for collective efforts to address social challenges and build a responsible society.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and staff of educational institutions from across the district. The programme aimed to sensitize youth about the harmful effects of drug abuse, encourage environmental conservation and promote adherence to traffic rules for ensuring public safety.
On the occasion, a pledge was administered wherein participants resolved to remain drug-free, safeguard the environment and follow traffic norms in their daily lives. The programme also included interactive elements, allowing students to engage and better understand these important issues.
Among others present were ADDC Sukhdev Singh Samyal, Addl. SP Iftekhar Ahmed, CEO Deepak Gupta, DFO, DIO and other officers.
The initiative provided a meaningful platform to empower youth to become responsible citizens and ambassadors of positive change in society.
