
SRINAGAR APRIL 08: Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Akshay Labroo on Wednsday conducted an on-site inspection of the ongoing upgradation and renovation works at the Banquet Hall-Conference Complex at M.A. Road, Srinagar.
He also reviewed the progress of renovation and upgradation works being carried out within the complex.
During the visit, the DC was accompanied by Chief Planning Officer, Fayaz Ahmad Dar, Superintending Engineer Hydraulic, Sajad Kawoosa, Executive Engineer R&B, Khalid Mehmood, Executive Engineer, UEED, Shabir Hussain and other senior Officials and Engineers.
During the inspection, the Deputy Commissioner assessed the progress and quality of works being executed at the site. He emphasized the need for maintaining high standards and ensuring timely completion of the project in accordance with the prescribed specifications. He also emphasized the need for a robust and efficient Audio-Visual(AV) system at the Conference Complex to enhance its overall functionality and ensure seamless conduct of official proceedings.
The DC underscored the importance of creating a well-equipped and efficient space in district to cater to official meetings, high-level interactions and other administrative engagements.
The DC further reviewed the ongoing renovation and allied works of the other units within the Banquet Hall Complex. He conducted a detailed assessment of the progress achieved so far and the quality of execution.
The DC directed the executing agencies to ensure that the upgraded and renovated Banquet Hall-cum-Conference Complex is completed in all respects by the end of this month, enhancing its overall utility and functionality while preserving its historical and administrative significance.
Highlighting the importance of the facility, the Deputy Commissioner stated that the Banquet Hall on M.A. Road serves as a vital venue for hosting government meetings, delegation-level discussions, official functions, and citizen-centric awareness programmes.
During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the renovation process of gutted security huts. He was informed that approximately 90 percent of the work has been completed. He also assessed measures being undertaken to address drainage-related issues within the premises.
The DC directed the concerned departments to expedite the remaining works and ensure seamless completion within the stipulated timeframe.
