KUPWARA, APRIL 07: Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Shrikant Suse, accompanied by Senior Superintendent of Police Kupwara, Syed Al-Tahir Gilani, today reviewed traffic management and civic amenities in Kupwara town.
They toured market areas along with concerned departments and issued directions to minimise chronic traffic congestion at busy junctions as well as action against unregulated parking, roadside encroachments which adversely affect vehicular movement and pedestrian safety.
The DC stressed the need for coordinated action between District police, Traffic Police, ARTO, Municipal Council, and PWD to ensure better traffic management.
The Deputy Commissioner also directed the Power Development Department to realign and maintain electric poles and overhead wires to minimize risks in the town. He also reviewed sanitation, road infrastructure, and public utilities in market areas and issued directions for necessary improvement.
The DC also interacted with representatives of market association on this occasion.
Later, meeting was convened at DC office, wherein directions were issued to all concerned departments to implement traffic improvement measures strictly.
