
PULWAMA, APRIL 02: In an effort to ensure seamless implementation of Mission Gyan Bharatam in the district, District Administration Pulwama today organised another training session at Town Hall Awantipora for surveyors of Sub-Divisions Tral and Awantipora.
The programme aimed to equip field functionaries with the necessary skills and understanding for conducting the household survey envisaged under the mission for identification and documentation of manuscripts.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Tral, Sajid Yehaya Naqash, who is also the District Nodal Officer for the mission, was present on the occasion. He highlighted the importance of the survey in documenting the region’s valuable heritage and urged the surveyors to carry out the exercise with diligence, sincerity and strict adherence to prescribed guidelines.
The training session was conducted by Prof. Dr. Jehangir Iqbal, Head, Department of Persian, University of Kashmir and Coordinator, Gyan Bharatam J&K. The session focused on practical aspects of the survey, including identification, handling and documentation of manuscripts.
During the session, surveyors were briefed on survey protocols, data collection methods, reporting formats including uploading of images and the use of the Gyan Bharatam survey application.
The session also provided an opportunity for participants to seek clarifications on field-level aspects to ensure smooth conduct of the survey. Among others, the session was attended by Assistant Commissioner Panchayat, Pulwama; Block Development Officer, Tral and other concerned officers.
