DC reviews progress of civic works in Kishtwar Township

KISHTWAR, APRIL 02: Deputy Commissioner Pankaj Kumar Sharma today reviewed the working of the Municipal Council and assessed the progress of ongoing development works in Kishtwar town.

At the outset, the MC Executive Officer Mirza Mumtaz Iqbal shared detailed insights on the current status of the 32 works being executed by the Urban Body, including the Town Beautification Project and Central Drainage works.

DC directed the Executive Engineer, PWD (R&B) to expedite all these works and ensure timely completion, including the works under CSR.

The DC also instructed to clear the decks for establishing Material Recovery Facility to improve waste management in the town. He further directed the concerned officers to start work on the Automated Car Parking Project proposed to be developed near Ashiana Orphanage. The EO was directed to ensure proper sanitation and cleanliness in the town as well as in surrounding areas.

The DC, while laying special emphasis, directed the Executive Engineer, PWD (R&B) Kishtwar to start work on Rs 4.21 crore Central Drainage Project at the earliest and complete the same within one month.

Taking note of road damage caused by wastewater, the DC directed the committee formed earlier by the DC to check unauthorized service stations without proper drainage and seal them if found violating norms.

The Deputy Commissioner stressed the need for timely execution of all works and better coordination among departments for the overall development of Kishtwar.
