
SHOPIAN, MARCH 30: District Administration Shopian today successfully concluded the week-long Special Phase campaign commemorating 150 years of the national song “Vande Mataram”, held from March 23 to March 30, 2026, across the district with remarkable enthusiasm and widespread public participation.
The campaign, inaugurated at the Auditorium Hall, GDC Shopian, witnessed an extensive series of cultural, educational, and awareness programmes conducted across schools, colleges, and public institutions, aimed at commemorating the completion of 150 years of National Song,Vande Mataram.
During the week-long celebrations, a wide array of activities including mass singing events, debates, symposiums, essay writing, painting competitions, cultural performances, and awareness campaigns were organized across the district.
Educational institutions across the district actively participated in the campaign, ensuring vibrant student involvement and meaningful engagement at all levels.
One of the major highlights of the programme was the large-scale participation of students in mass singing of Vande Mataram at multiple locations, joined by members of the general public, creating a powerful atmosphere of patriotic fervour.
Special initiatives such as Photo Exhibitions and installation of selfie points added depth to the celebrations and strengthened the connection of citizens with the legacy of the freedom struggle.
